no task is too small: the art of thoughtful brand maintenance
You know the feeling—you need a quick update to your packaging, a tweak to your sales deck, or a fresh set of business cards, but you hesitate. You don’t want to “bother” your designer with something so small. Maybe you've worked with designers in the past who made you feel like small tasks weren’t worth their time.
let’s clear this up right now: no task is too small.
In the world of regenerative CPG brands, where every decision is rooted in integrity and impact, the details matter. The small things are what hold the big things together. A logo doesn’t build trust—consistent, thoughtful execution across every touchpoint does. When a consumer picks up your product, clicks your ad, or unboxes your latest shipment, every detail contributes to their trust in your brand.
the real work is in the maintenance
Brand creation is exciting. It’s bold, it’s visionary, and it gets all the glory. But a brand isn’t just built—it’s kept. And that happens in the maintenance. The ongoing, everyday commitment to showing up with consistency and care for even the smallest things.
A cohesive brand isn’t just about having a stunning website or a beautifully designed product label. It’s about ensuring that your social media templates, investor pitch decks, email signatures, and even your thank-you notes reflect the same level of thoughtfulness and strategy. If your brand values sustainability, trust, and authenticity, that needs to be evident everywhere.
i get it because i share your mission
Many designers love the big splashy projects but shy away from the smaller, ongoing needs of a brand. While other freelance designers may get bored or choose to take on more glamorous projects, I stick with my clients as long as they need me.
Back in the day, I also used to also find PowerPoint decks, updating social templates, creating email banners, etc boring. I thought creating ultra-creative beer packaging and Super Bowl ads was the dream. I chased work that could win awards and required all of my brain power. But, the reason I was easily bored was because I working with brands that I wasn’t passionate about. Now that I’m working in line with my values, PowerPoint decks and production work is no longer mundane.
Working with a mission-aligned designer means you can trust that I’ll stick with you. You won’t have to feel awkward about asking for a quick revision or a minor tweak to your print materials. If it matters to your brand, it matters to me.
the details build trust
Think about the last time you engaged with a brand that felt truly dialed in. Their business cards matched their website. Their email signatures weren’t an afterthought. Their Instagram stories carried the same essence as their packaging. It felt seamless. That didn’t happen by accident—it happened because someone took the time to make sure that every touchpoint was considered.
That’s the kind of work I love to do. Whether it’s designing your next big campaign or making sure your brand looks polished across every interaction, I’m here for it. No task is too small—because every piece contributes to the bigger picture which is key to regenerating our planet.
story time
My client, Second Chances, came to me to ask for a small project. In her email she said, “I’m sorry to even ask you to do this, it’s such a small thing.”
The ask was to update the old graphics on the donation bins to be more engaging, utilize updated brand elements, and simplify text. Technically, this is a small project for me. But in terms of impact? This is no small task.
The way I think about it is this: if the donation bins are more engaging, easier to see from the road, clear about what can and cannot be put in the bins, and include QR codes to the organization’s website, then more people will utilize the bins which means more clothing will be diverted from the landfill and more people in need will be helped.
The impact of this “small task” is massive.
How fortunate am I that I get to help clients make such a large impact on our community and the environment through simple design executions? I would say pretty damn fortunate!
