Casa Terra believes that travel should be a way for people to explore new places without negatively impacting the environment they’re exploring. Located in the Algarve, Casa Terra wants to share the rich culture and magnificent landscape in a way that positively impacts the local economy and environment. They provide a luxury experience with a farm-to-table restaurant, furniture and decor made by local artisans, creating jobs for locals, and ensuring minimal waste, energy, and water usage.

These days, many of us turn to Pinterest and Instagram to find inspiration for our branding. While these tools have a place in my process, I strive to find inspiration from my surroundings and my unique perspective. This is how I’m able to create truly unique creative solutions that don’t look like anything else out there. While traveling in Portugal, I gathered photos and sketches of what stood out. In the Algarve, I noticed the spectacular rock formations, the vibrant blue of the ocean, the white buildings with pops of color from flowers, Portugal’s iconic tiles, and the welcoming nature of the locals.
Using these elements and combining them with how Casa Terra wants to make people feel led to the creative direction for this project. The illustrations come from the native plants I saw all around the beaches. The colors are inspired by the water, flowers, and buildings but tweaked to give the brand that approachable and artistic vibe. Casa Terra wants to offer a luxury experience without being stuffy or too serious. A playful type treatment for the logo perfectly captures the vibe.
